In a recent crime news a minor girl, kidnapped from Uttar Pradesh and raped for nearly two months in Karnataka, was rescued by the police. The 20-year-old accused in the case was arrested by the police.

In a disturbing incident that unfolded in the Ubhaon area of Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, a 17-year-old girl became the victim of a heinous crime. On the night of August 14, she was forcibly abducted from her village by a 20-year-old man. The assailant took her to Karnataka, where she endured a traumatic ordeal lasting nearly two months, marked by repeated acts of sexual assault.

The distressing sequence of events came to light when the girl’s mother filed a complaint, prompting law enforcement to take action. On September 11, a case was registered under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (kidnapping or inducing a woman to compel for marriage) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The gravity of the situation prompted an immediate and intensive police investigation.

On Tuesday, the diligent efforts of the police bore fruit as they successfully located and rescued the girl near Bilthra Roadways. In her statement to the police, the young girl detailed the horrific experiences she had endured during her captivity in Karnataka. She recounted the relentless sexual assaults perpetrated by the accused over the prolonged period of almost two months. The severity of her ordeal prompted the authorities to escalate the charges against the accused.

In light of the victim’s statement, the police added Section 376 (rape) of the IPC and incorporated provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act into the case. This legal action seeks to ensure that the accused faces the full consequences of his reprehensible actions.

This deeply distressing crime news underscores the urgent need for societal awareness, preventive measures, and a robust legal response to protect individuals from such egregious acts. The detailed account of the incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals, especially in the context of crimes against women and minors.
