Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Missing: BJP’s Poster Jab and Cash Reward

Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Missing: In the wake of ED raids at his residence in Delhi, Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi has posted a ‘missing’ poster of Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Twitter. A reward of Rs 11,000 is offered for any information on Soren’s location.

Jharkhand’s BJP president, Babulal Marandi, took a swipe at Hemant Soren on Tuesday, sharing a ‘missing’ poster on Twitter that included a cash reward of Rs 11,000 for information about the Chief Minister’s whereabouts. This development arose amidst speculation surrounding Soren’s mysterious disappearance following Enforcement Directorate (ED) searches at his official residence in Delhi on Monday. Notably, Soren was absent during the raids, leading ED officials to declare him “missing.”

Marandi, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Jharkhand Assembly, described Soren in the tweeted poster as a person standing at 5 feet 2 inches, wearing a white shirt, black trousers, and slippers. The poster stated that Soren had been missing for over “40 hours” and was last seen walking with his security personnel at 2 am.

The poster urged people to provide information at the Chief Minister’s residence in Ranchi if Soren was located, with a cash reward of Rs 11,000 promised. Meanwhile, legislators from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led ruling alliance were instructed to stay in Ranchi for a meeting on Tuesday to address the state’s current political situation, amid concerns that Soren might face arrest by the ED in an alleged land fraud case.

The ruling alliance consists of the JMM, Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Soren, in an email to the ED, agreed to record his statement on January 31 at 1 pm in connection with an alleged land scam at his official Ranchi residence.

JMM legislators stayed at Soren’s official Delhi residence on Monday night after an ED team visited to question him regarding a money laundering investigation in an alleged land fraud case. The ED seized two BMWs, incriminating documents, and Rs 36 lakh in cash.

Soren had been questioned by the ED at his Ranchi residence on January 20, and the agency had issued ten summons, with Soren skipping them nine times. He left for Delhi on January 27 and agreed to a fresh round of questioning on January 31 at his Ranchi residence.

JMM criticized the ED’s actions as “unconstitutional” and claimed the Chief Minister’s trip to Delhi was for personal reasons, expressing concerns about the move being politically motivated.
